Janice AnnaMarie Manzanares

Janice Manzanares, passed away September 16, 2016 after a lengthy illness and is now with her God, Jesus Christ and Savor. She was born September 20, 1940 in Center, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Emma Jaramillo, her sister Elizabeth (Walt) Britton and a former husband Orlando Trujillo. She is survived by her husband Elefonso “Al” Manzanares; her children, Dean (Rosana) Trujillo, Wanda Trujillo, Yolanda (Ryan) Farmer and Christopher (Michaelle) Manzanares; grandchildren, Juliana, Orlando Trujillo, Ciara and Adira Farmer; sister, Patricia (Wayne) Brown; brothers, Larry (Beth) Jaramillo and Bob Jaramillo. She always looked forward to spending time with family and especially her grandchildren who were her whole life and joy. Al and Janice enjoyed 18 plus years of a blessed marriage, they were able to do some traveling, camping in their 5th wheel, two trips to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii and were anticipating other trips, until illness set in. Janice retired in 1992 from Rocky Flats Dept. of Energy, her duties were as a Security Information Specialist, Data analyst, and she continued working as a contractor for Rockwell International. Janice graduated from Center High School in Center, Colorado, attended Pueblo Junior College, Adams State University, University of Colorado, community College of Denver (AA), Metropolitan State College and Front Range Community College. Janice was instrumental in starting Head Start programs, and Day Care Centers in Center, Denver, Thornton, Colorado where she eventually became the director. She was a devout Catholic, with very strong Faith and beliefs. She was a qualified C.C.D. instructor with 30 hours of methodology and 30 hours of doctrine. She was known for her incredible ability to attract people; she was truly loved by all. Her life was centered on family, friends and above all her grandchildren. It is unknown if animals go to heaven, if so Monty and Perry her beloved dogs are waiting for her. Cremation, Romero Funeral Service, a Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Rosary, Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, at Saint Paul the Apostle, 1132 W. Oro Grande Dr. Pueblo West, CO. Family will receive friends at Pueblo Shrine Club, 1501 McCulloch Blvd. Pueblo West, CO.
