Eileen Charlotte Santisteven

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Charlotte "Chede" Santisteven on August 1, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on July 29, 1945, to Viola (Rooney) Barreras-Gallegos and Jacob Gallegos, Charlotte was later raised by her stepfather, Joe Barreras. Her life was a testament to love, creativity, and a deep commitment to her family and community. Charlotte graduated from Pueblo County High School and continued her education at a beauty college in Pueblo. Her diverse career included roles as a beautician, co-owner of Ray’s Paint and Body with her husband, and substitute teacher, reflecting her nurturing spirit and versatile talents. She met her beloved husband, Raymond, in 1963, and they were married on June 27, 1964. They shared a profound bond and celebrated 59 anniversaries together, enriching the lives of many with their friendship and warmth. Charlotte and Ray were cherished friends to Carol and Charlie Pullara, John and Madelyn Spaccamonti, Eve and Tony Panariso, Phil and Marie Pacheco, Bob and Judy Moore, Skip and Carol Kuhns, and the Monack family. Their gatherings were filled with joy, laughter, and a deep sense of camaraderie. Charlotte had a passion for car shows, gardening, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. She delighted in cooking, baking, canning, and making wine with Ray. An avid reader who enjoyed long walks, she lived a vibrant life full of interests that brought happiness to those around her. She is survived by her children: Ray Santistevan Jr. (Annette Santistevan), Greg Santisteven (Elizabeth Santisteven), and Eric (Scotty) Santisteven, as well as her siblings Sandra Vigil, Milton (Billy) Gallegos, Susan Gonzales, Daniel (Ricky) Barreras, and Kenneth Barreras. Charlotte was a loving grandmother to Nigel Santistevan, Amanda Santistevan, Celeste Santistevan, Noah Santisteven, Tayo Santisteven, Nick Spencer, J.C. Spencer, and Kortney Riggs. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Santisteven, and her parents, Viola and Jacob Gallegos, and stepfather Joe Barreras. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Charlotte's remarkable life. Eileen’s legacy of kindness, joy, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Romero Family Funeral Home.
