Bobbie Quintana

Bobbie Quintana passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2023 at the age of 80 in his hometown of Pueblo, Colorado. Bobbie was born on December 11, 1942 to Joe and Jennie Quintana. After graduating from South High School in 1961 he entered the United States Navy and actively served for 6 years. He then continued as a reservist for 23 more years, serving as a Navel Gunners Mate Seabee. It was during this time that he met and fell in love with Ermie Nishikawa. They were married in 1965 and were with each other through all of life’s ups and downs. Bob and Ermie would go on to have 3 children, Bobbie Jr., Trisha and Bonnie. He was a wonderful and devoted father and husband. He always taught us to know ourselves in all situations and supported us all throughout the many accomplishments and difficulties of our lives. Bobbie worked for the City of Pueblo for 39 years advancing to the position of Park Supervisor before retiring. His favorite pastime after retirement was being outdoors tending to the yard, playing with his dog Baby, and his cat, Sir Fluffington and fishing. He enjoyed tinkering with his audio/video electronics and being with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He especially loved spending time with his “Honey” watching movies. Bobbie, lovingly known as “Honey” will be dearly missed and remembered by his wife of 58 years, Ermie Quintana; children, Bobbie (Karen) Quintana Jr., Trisha (Patrick) Shamblee and Bonnie Gordon (Kenny Garcia); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Hernandez, Jennie Jo (Dionisio) Vigil, Rose (Dimas) Benavidez; sisters-in-law, Christine Manzanares and Barbara Myers; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his oldest grandson, Preston Gordon; parents, Joe and Jennie Quintana; sister Betty Perez. Bobbie will be remembered for his genuine devotion to Christ, selflessness, humility, contagious smile, and love of cherry turnovers. He will be missed tremendously by all those that knew and loved him. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated at this time.
