Anthony Sanchez

Anthony “Gene” Sanchez, 73, of Surprise AZ, originally from Pueblo, CO, went to be with the Lord, on November 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Evangeline Sanchez, father-in-law Baltazar Blackwood, siblings Bell and Lee Archuleta, and sons, Robert Salas and Sam Lopez. Anthony is survived by his loving wife and honey of 38 years Debbie Sanchez, his children Anthony Sanchez, Gina Sanchez (Walter), and Ashley Sanchez (Matthew), his 8 grandchildren with 1 on the way, his 2 great grandchildren with 2 on the way, mother-in-law, Elaine Blackwood, siblings, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. He worked as an Engineer for the Department of Transportation. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. Anthony leaves behind a legacy of humbleness, generosity, kindness and an overwhelming love of his family and God. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family, going on trips, gambling, spending time in the mountains, going fishing, coaching his grandson in baseball, attending the grandkids sporting events, watching the Broncos play, and attending car shows. He also enjoyed playing softball and golfing in his older years. He always had a positive outlook and became a friend to everyone he met. He was known for giving good advice based on biblical principles and providing alternative perspectives to life's biggest challenges. He touched so many people with his remarkable green eyes, never ending smile and contagious laughter. He always reminded us there was something to be thankful for no matter the situation. He will be loved and missed by all those he leaves behind to cherish his memory. The family would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers and support during this difficult time. Memorial Service, 3:00 pm, Friday, November 25, 2022, Romero Family Funeral Home. Reception dinner will follow, Knights of Columbus, 1200 Acero Ave., Pueblo.
