Betty J. Duran
September 5, 1954 - February 15, 2022
Betty J. Duran, 67, of Pueblo passed away peacefully on February 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian A. and Catherine L. Lucero, her mama Flora M. Lucero; sister, Veronica Kinser. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Duran, siblings, Elizabeth (Josh) Elorreaga, Dannie (Diane) Lucero, Zeke (Jordy) Navejas, Emma Barela, Marty (Rachel) Lucero, grandchildren, Antonio Mondragon and Gregorio Mondragon: numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Betty was a woman of unwavering faith, and her life was a true testament of trusting God on a mountain or in a valley. She was confident that while she was in the valley of her health challenges, she was being used by God to share His faithfulness. She would spread the Gospel of Jesus to everyone who would listen. She would always say, “Without God we are nothing”. Often, she would be found reading her bible or singing songs of praise to God. Betty loved her family through her acts of service. Many people have enjoyed her delicious tamales and sopapillas. While others wore her beaded jewelry or used her embroidered dish towels or doilies. In addition to loving others, Betty enjoyed coloring and watching “cowboys”. She will forever be loved and deeply missed by those left behind to cherish her memory. The family would like to give a special thank you to Betty’s caregivers at InnovAge as well as her dear friends Susan, Shirley, Gerri, Diane, the Mondragon, Avalos and Vigil families.
