Patrick John Riggs, a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. Known to close family and friends as “PJ”, 39, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 14, 2023. PJ was a lifetime Puebloan, born December 02, 1984. PJ leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and a zest for life that will forever be cherished. PJ's departure has left a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, former Pueblo County Sheriff, Joe I. Torres and paternal grandfather Roger J. Riggs. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Corrina Riggs, two beautiful children, Elijah P. Riggs (15) and Adrianna C. Riggs (12), beloved grandmother Frances Clyne, Parents Pamela L. Riggs (Torres), Rick V. (Laura) Riggs, siblings Ricky J. (April) Riggs, Bonnie I. (Brian) Sargent, father and mother in-law Manuel (Nancy) Ruiz, brother in-law Manuel (Liana) Ruiz, sisters in-law Delilah (Jacob) Phillips and Felicia Ruiz. PJ was also the proud uncle to several nieces and nephews and he had many extended family members and friends that he loved and cherished. PJ was truly a family man and his greatest joy came from being a devoted husband and father. PJ and Corrina’s love story was one of unwavering commitment, support, and companionship. PJ cherished every moment spent with Corrina, and their love was a testament to the power of a strong and enduring partnership. His love for Corrina was evident in every gesture, every word, every stolen glance and all the silly things he did to make her laugh. Their bond was unbreakable, and his absence will be deeply felt by his soulmate. His love for his children Elijah and Adrianna knew no bounds, from teaching them how to bait a hook to and teaching them life lessons, to sharing stories, laughter and creating memories around a campfire. Recently, he had been over the moon about his son Elijah being an amazing football player and making the Central High School football team. PJ loved football and his favorite player to watch was his son. PJ’s daughter Adrianna had received the Academic Excellence Award and PJ was extremely proud of her for this. PJ's love for his children was a constant source of joy and fulfillment. His unwavering support, guidance, and infectious laughter will forever be etched in their hearts. PJ was known for his strong work ethic and his pride in his career. He was a hard worker who approached every task with dedication and enthusiasm. As a Project Manager at Liberty Railway Services, PJ had recently been given the honor of being personally invited, by the President of his company, to travel to Buffalo New York, so that he could share his skills, knowledge and technique with other employees. This was PJ’s first time traveling on a plane and he was super excited and nervous to be going on this trip but mostly he felt super honored and proud to be invited to share his knowledge within his trade. When PJ was not working he enjoyed his passion for the great outdoors, particularly in fishing. Whether he was casting his line at Lake Pueblo or navigating the waters of the Arkansas River, PJ found peace and tranquility in the embrace of nature. His love for fishing was a reflection of his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. PJ's passion for the sport will forever be remembered by those who had the pleasure of joining him on his fishing days at the lake and river. PJ's outgoing and fun-loving personality made him a cherished friend to many. His magnetic presence and genuine interest in others drew people towards him, and he never met a stranger in his life because he was a friend instantly. PJ’s absence will be deeply felt in the lives of those he touched. His faith was a guiding light that brought comfort to him. PJ sought the Lord, asking Jesus, “Will you remember me when I come to Your kingdom!” And in confidence we know Jesus answered to him, “On that day you will be with me in Paradise.”
