Kenneth Robert Marez

Kenneth Robert Marez, 59, of Pueblo, passed away on December 14, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe William Marez; mother, Irene Baker and brother, Daniel Marez. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Evangeline Marez; children, Rosalina Marie Marez, Kenneth Robert Marez Jr. and Aaron Christopher Marez; grandchildren, Evangelina Marie Marez and Kenneth J. Marez; siblings, Joanne (Ernie) Valdez, Jackie (Ray) Montoya, Joe (Sandy) Marez Jr., Fred (Izzy) Marez, Debra Dionisero, Kathy (Stan) Owens, David (Sally) Baker and Linda (Sam) Reyes; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Ken was born on October 24,1961 and was a lifelong resident of Pueblo. He married the love of his life, Michelle, on November 27, 1982. They were married for 38 amazing years and were blessed with three beautiful children and two wonderful grandchildren. He was a loving, responsible, encouraging and dedicated husband and father who took great pride in caring for his family. He loved his extended family and friends as well and enjoyed a close and loving relationship with his siblings, nieces and nephews. His happiest moments were truly when he was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and other loved ones. Ken had a great faith in God, enjoying a close and loving relationship his savior Jesus Christ. He knew the importance of prayer and made sure his family prayed every night before dinner, taught them to take all their problems to the Lord and to always thank him for their blessings. He was a 30-year member of Holy Family Parish and enjoyed attending services with Michelle and their family. He was also a dedicated career man. He had been a heavy equipment operator for 30 years spending 10 of those years with Vestos Towers as a Senior Trainer and educator for their Safety classes. Ken took great pride that he had been able to accomplish many of his life’s goals. He had many hobbies including, art, painting beautiful mountain scenes, and fishing. Two of his favorite pastimes were watching Western movies with Michelle and riding in his truck with his family and faithful companion, his German Shepard, Appollo. His taught all of us, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”! His favorite line was always, “You can do anything if you put your mind to it”. He was blessed with an unwavering strength, a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile that will be missed forever and remembered with love by the friends and family he leaves behind.
