Kathleen Mary Clayton

Kathleen (Kathy) Mary Clayton, 71, of Pueblo, CO passed away after fighting a brave battle on October 26, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Catherine Allen; her loved one, Billy Bryant and many other beloved family members and friends. She is survived by her brother, Bob Allen; daughters, Kathy (Tomas) Martinez and Susan Mendoza; grandsons, Tyler (Sarah) Barnes and David (Menche) Mendoza; great granddaughters and the greatest loves of her lifetime, Sophia Barnes, Opal Barnes and Cheska Mendoza; and many friends whom she loved like they were family. Kathy loved Colorado for the mountains, where she enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing. A piece of her heart remained a Florida girl, she talked often of how she missed the ocean and beaches. Her favorite animals were sea turtles and dolphins and she always enjoyed watching Shark Week. She spent many years of her life in the career of bartending both in Pagosa Springs and Pueblo. She made many friends who became family to her during these years and always knew how to make the holidays fun for her patrons with costumes and themed jello shots! After leaving the bartending trade, she spent many years doing home health care. She took on this role to help others to stay in their homes before her own health issues caused her to stop working. In her time following her working years she poured her heart into her family, as family was everything to her. For many years, she loved decorating her home for the holidays to bring joy to her grandchildren and in more recent years her great granddaughters. She often planned crafting projects to make with her great granddaughters, Sophia and Opal, teaching them to express their creativity while building memories she treasured. She loved cooking and for many years would cook for anyone she could. In recent years, she spent time finding recipes for treats on Pinterest, which she made for her grandson and great granddaughters frequently. She also enjoyed the delicious food that her grandson, Tyler would cook up and spend time sharing with the family- these times together were also some of her most treasured. She will be forever loved and missed.
