Karen Lynn Villegas

Karen Lynn Villegas, 59, of Pueblo passed away on February 9, 2024. She was preceded in death by her step-mother Joann Martinez. She is survived by husband Dave Villegas; children, Christina (Alex) Maldonado, Angel (Marc) Williams, Veronica Villegas, Charity Villegas, David Villegas, Isaiah Villegas, Valerie (Sam) Ramirez, Christy Villegas and Sarah (Brian) Flick; grandchildren, Marissa (Michael) Hernandez, Mariah (James) Madril, Maleah Madril, Miguel Rodriguez, Antonio (Sierra) Rodriguez, Esequiel Escobado, Giovanni Williams, Jasmine and Ezra, Mia (Caleb) Sisneros, Velia (Hagan)McIntosh, Ayden Perez, Ethan Flick; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Lylah, Michael,Annalyse, Mason, Jeremiah, Rafael; father, Gilbert Martinez, mother, Adela (Dennis) Cunningham; siblings, Betty (Rene) Martinez, Gilbert Martinez and David (Shauna)Martinez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Karen valued two things more than anything else in life: her relationship with God and quality time with her family. Since 1988, Karen devoted her life to God, and proudly told anyone and everyone who would listen. Such a strong bond would go on to bring Karen and her husband Dave together for 33 loving years until her passing. Her love of both God and her budding family brought together so many other fulfilling relationships over time. From all of her friends through the church to her many kids and grandkids, Karen loved spending time with everyone, whether it was to engage in thoughtful conversation or to just have fun. Karen hosted her family for the holidays every year, of which Easter and Christmas were her favorites to celebrate. Karen loved doing arts and crafts with the kids, using her green thumb in the garden with her daughter Angel, and baking sweets for everyone. She enjoyed looking for the nearest yard sales, performing in skits for her church, and playing with her favorite filters on Snapchat. Whether Karen was opening her house to children without a home as a foster parent, nursing orphaned baby squirrels from her backyard to full health, or guiding the next generation of God’s followers for over 20 years as a Sunday school teacher, she took pride in giving back to others. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
