Gregory Glenn Davis

Gregory Glenn “Chip” Davis was born on August 21st, 1959 in Plymouth, Michigan. He passed away of natural causes on Friday, August 9th 2024 at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife, Mary whom he wed on August 25th, 1984. He is also survived by his oldest son, Benjamin; his daughter, Jessica; his three grandchildren Bailey, Katie, and Archer; his older sister, Ann and his younger sister, Judy. He has joined his other son, Joshua, in heaven. Gregory was a very accomplished Air Force veteran and retired at the rank of Colonel. Chip was a lover of music, people, animals, and life. He composed countless songs on piano and guitar including lullabies for all his children and a wedding song for his daughter. He connected with strangers easily and kept his family close throughout his life. He was also open to experiences and anything that could make a day fun. “My beloved walked into my life when I was a sophomore in college. He had a girlfriend at the time, so it was easy and comfortable to be friends. Then one day, my roommate called me at work and told me he liked me. I countered with, ‘He has a girlfriend.’ To which she replied, ‘Not anymore. He broke up with her.’ At that point, I heard an audible voice, ‘He’s the one.’ I spun around, but I was alone in the room. And he was the one. Then, now, and always. I am blessed to have been loved by such wonderful man. I miss you, Ginky.” - Mary, his wife “Dad always had a way with being open about animals and helped me love and care for all living things. Every critter got a name and was looked after to the best of our ability. Most notably my first guinea pig, Bethany, excited to have brought her home and find out she was going to have babies. Never rushed a hug, always warm and tight. I'll miss being the ‘beast master’ and ‘Benny Ben’.” - Ben, his son “My father was a very important man in his career, he accomplished a lot and made even more things possible. I’m sure he was busy, but he was never absent. He was always here for his family. He came to every dance recital and brought me flowers; he took me to Daddy-Daughter dances nearly every year of my young life; and there were countless breakfasts, hangouts, and late-night conversations. The world has suffered a heavy loss; I’ll never be the same without my hero.” - Jessica, his daughter
