Rita Rae Martinez-Porterfield

Rita Rae Martinez-Porterfield, 62, of Pueblo, went home to be with her Jesus on December 26, 2021. She was proceeded in death by her parents; Larkin and Stella Martinez, her siblings Junior Martinez, Frankie Martinez, Danny Martinez, Josie Delduca, brother-in-law Kenny Delduca, and Grandson Angel Martinez. Rita is survived by her children Misty (Joel) Lopez, Amanda (Joshua) Trujillo, Michaela (Dillion) Roberts, Eladio (Cassie) Rivera, Amorita (Brooke) Mendez; grandchildren, Cyrus, Joziah, Joel Jr., Miguel, Alex, Josh, Jon, Jacob, Cheyenne, Nate, Noah, Nevaeh, Ezariah, Marcelino and Braxton; siblings, Angie, Billy, Cathy, Linda, Larry, Michael, Gilbert. She was born on January 8, ​1959, to Larkin and Stella Martinez. Rita grew up in Florence, Colorado, and graduated from Florence High School in 1979. Rita lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed caring for people from young to old and everyone in between. Rita worked at Argus where she took care of people daily, on Sunday’s she was often found at her church where she loved and cared for the babies in the nursery. In her free time, she enjoyed reading her Bible, playing solitaire, doing word searches, and the outdoors. Rita would say “I do not want anyone crying, be joyful and make sure you all give your hearts to Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Praise Our Lord Jesus for the time we had.” Rita loved her Jesus and dedicated her life to extending that love to others from family to strangers. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her light and loved her soul. Celebration of Life, 10:00 am, Saturday January 22, 2022, Fellowship of the Rockies, Pueblo. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or cards that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Rita.
