Jose "Joe" Alfonso Alarid

Jose “Joe” Alfonso Alarid, 86, of Pueblo, passed away on April 4, 2022. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jerry Alarid; parents, Jose and Eumelia Alarid: siblings, Julia Gonzales and Alfredo Alarid; goddaughter, Nancy Gonzales; son-in-law, Ernie Roybal; sister -in-law, June Alarid; brother-in-law, Frank Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Belia Alarid; children, Kathy, Joe Jr. (Rita) and Paula; grandchildren, Melissa, Tommy Joe, Janell, Savannah, Mariah, Cody, Travis, Charmaine, and Derrick; 10 great grandchildren, brother, Anthony Louie Alarid; goddaughter, Amelia Jo; caretaker, Marquita Valdez Otero who he called his Angel; stepchildren, Michelle and Dawn (Shannon); step grandchildren, Jackie, Brandon, Devon, Gerad and Nick; 7 step great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joe Martinez; sister-in-law, Stella Zahn; mother-of his children, Elsie; compadres, Fred and Deb Martinez; his dog and companion, Pepe; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Joe was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired as a District 60 Security Officer at South High School as well as a part time Titan Shield Security Officer and Colorado State Fair ticket agent. He enjoyed camping, fishing, working in his garden and garage. He also enjoyed listening to Mexican music, dancing and playing cards. One of his favorite pastimes was hosting his family during holidays at his home which he worked so hard to maintain and was very proud of. He loved going to visit his brother in Santa Fe, New Mexico and attending New Mexico reunions with his wife and sister. Fourth of July and the state fair parades were always happy family gatherings that we loved as children and the traditions passed to our children as well as beautiful memories. Joe will be forever loved and missed by those he leaves behind.
