John David Spice Sr., 76 of Pueblo West, passed away on June 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Rollie William Spice and his mother Bernice Spice-McVay. He is survived by his wife Priscilla Spice; children, Dino (Jackie) Spice, Tina (MJ) Barcelona and John David “JD” Spice Jr.; grandchildren, Marcella (Marshall) Henry, Jennifer (Dan) McArthur, Manuel (Thea) Thayne, Brandi Trujillo-Spice, Cilla (Stephanie) Spice, Joelle Alva, Adam (Aspen) Spice-Alva, Isaiah Spice, Lil Herman Vigil Jr., Amy (Ray) Jaramillo and John Vigil; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Darling (Herman) Vigil, Mike (Pam) McVay and Pat (Debbie) McVay. John was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Phoenix Arizona. John was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He joined on September 18, 1962 and served 3 years in Vietnam. He owned his own transmission shop, Parker Transmissions for several years, and also worked for District 70 as a bus driver, eventually retiring in Pueblo West. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, building cars and riding Harley motorcycles. He also enjoyed woodwork, leatherwork, jewelry making, yard work, home improvement and upholstery work. He was a true fan of sports, especially boxing, NASCAR and football, His favorite team being the Raiders. John was a strong caring man of faith. He loved to share the word of God with others. He could always be counted on to help others and loved to crack jokes to make others laugh and smile. More than anything he loved his time spent with his family and felt very blessed and thankful for all the Lord had provided. John will be forever loved and deeply missed by all those he leaves behind to cherish his memory. Memorial Service, 1:00 pm, Thursday, Family Worship Center, Pueblo, followed by reception, Pueblo Shriners Club, Pueblo West. Inurnment, 9:00 am, Friday, Pikes Peak National Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
