Alfonsa M. Serna, 85, of Pueblo went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2020. She was born June 1, 1934 in San Luis, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delfino and Juanita Jacquez. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Abel A. Serna; children Mike (Juanita) Serna, Frank (Jeanette) Serna, Fred (Janet) Serna, Sandy (David) Montoya, and Barbara (Walter) Jones; grandchildren Frankie, Justin, Mikie, Ruby, Chrissy, Freddie, Jennifer, Maureen, Janelle, and Walter Jr.; great-grandchildren Michael, Xavier, Ian, Brenden, Randy, Luciano, Lola, Genesis, Justin Jr., Journee, Julian, Jaymi, Charli, Andrew, Ethan, Madison, and Kylo; siblings Ervin Jacquez, Henry (Emma) Jacques and Joan (Levi) Roybal; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Alfonsa was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved having her family together. She loved praying, cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, and vacationing with her family. Alfonsa also enjoyed spending time in San Luis, CO where she grew up and helped farm with her father. She was a strong believer in the Catholic Faith and was very involved with the St. Leander Church family where she was an active member of prayer groups as well as a Eucharistic Minister. Alfonsa will forever beloved and missed by all those she leaves behind. Rosary, 9:30 am, Friday, January 31st followed by Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 am. at St. Leander Church. Reception following services at Romero Courtesy Hall. Rosary, Sangre De Cristo Church, San Luis, Colorado followed by Interment in San Luis Cemetery is pending. At her request there will be no public viewing.
